Susannah Clemence is a narrative artist. Ink and pencil drawings, etching, screenprints and egg tempera are the primary media used to depict scenes: mainly people in situations, both seen and imagined, in a style that bridges fine art and illustration.

Favourite subjects are drinkers in bars and dancers in nightclubs, people out on the streets of Newlyn, Cornwall where she lives; train passengers and people who feel strongly about each other.
 
Other recent work includes lifedrawing and portraits, sculpture and abstract light projections.
